CiRCUIT RACES

Circuit Races

The West Midlands region has several traffic free circuits, some purpose built, plus at present the use of a longer traffic free circuit at Cosford aerodrome. The purpose built circuits are ideal for newcomers to the sport to learn about racing in a group in a more controlled environment before moving on to racing on the open road. And with racing only permitted on the open road for over-16s, they are where youth riders learn their trade. In some cases they host midweek training sessions.

The circuits are:

Cosford
This is a large circuit based around the RAF aerodrome, making use of the runway and service roads. It will host racing on April 17 at the Hell of the North Runway. There may be limitations for spectator access.

Curborough
This is a motor racing circuit but most of the racing is run by Lichfield Cycle Club.
